PE and Sport Premium

Sports Premium Funding
PE and Sports Premium Grant
At Northleigh, we value the role of physical activity on the health and well being of our pupils. We actively encourage all children to engage in a variety of sports and have strong links with local clubs to be able to continue the offer we provide outside of school. Our aim is develop our children as active healthy individuals who make active choices for life.
What is the PE and Sports Premium?
Our school receives additional government funding known as the Primary PE and Sport Premium, designed to improve the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity for all children. For the 2025–2026 academic year, this funding remains at £320 million nationally, with allocations based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6. We use this funding to enhance our PE curriculum, provide staff training, increase opportunities for active play, and ensure all pupils—regardless of ability—can enjoy and benefit from physical activity. Our aim is to promote healthy lifestyles, build physical confidence, and foster a lifelong love of movement and sport
