Northleigh CE Nursery

Northleigh Nursery

Northleigh Nursery is an exciting place to be! Our unit is led by a qualified teacher and we have a super team of dedicated staff in EYFS. We offer a range of experiences that promote curiosity and launch our whole school characteristics of being BRAVE, STRONG AND FEARLESS.

Our Nursery children work closely with Reception and join in with daily chat time at the Snack Cafe. They take part in weekly Forest School sessions on Muddy Mondays. There is a variety of indoor and outdoor experiences for the children, including a very popular mud kitchen. Nursery and Reception have lunch time outdoor play with KS1 children which really boosts their confidence and social skills.

The teaching and learning in Nursery is topic led which changes each half term. Activities are planned around our individual children's individual interests.

In Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This covers 7 main areas:

  • Personal Social and Emotional Development.
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Because our nursery children have the opportunity to link with our Reception class daily, by the time they start school the children are familiar with the setting and transition is smooth. The children are very much part of our whole school family.

We accept:

  • 2-year-old 15-hour funding (6-digit reference number and Certificate of Eligibility)
